When you arrive in Nha Trang after Hanoi or Da Nang, the first thing you feel is that the air itself breathes differently. It’s saltier, heavier, and filled with the rhythm of the sea. The streets move slower here, and smiles come easier. The city doesn’t rush — it invites you to slow down with it.
I came for a week, without strict plans or checklists — just craving the ocean, fresh seafood, warm evenings on the promenade, and a touch of adventure.
If you’re looking for a complete Nha Trang travel guide here are must-visit places.
Day 1. First Impressions and a Motorbike Ride 🛵

In the morning, I rented a motorbike — probably the best way to feel the city.
If you’re visiting, try Easy Rider Nha Trang, a rental service with great reviews, helmets, and hotel delivery.
💡 Tip: If you’re renting for a few days, ask about a discount — most places give 10–15%.
My route was simple: I followed the coastal road where the beach and hills constantly trade places.
The first stop — Bãi Dài Beach (Long Beach). It’s calmer and less crowded than the main stretch, perfect for sitting by the water with a coconut, listening to the soft waves brushing the sand.
Day 2–3. Temples and Panoramas

On the second day, I changed the mood a bit and rode to Long Sơn Pagoda — one of the city’s main landmarks.
The white Buddha sitting on the hill can be seen from nearly anywhere in Nha Trang. From the top, you get a panoramic view of the city and the bay — especially magical just before sunset when the rooftops glow golden.

Just nearby are the Po Nagar Cham Towers, built between the 7th and 12th centuries by the ancient Cham civilization.
There’s something deeply spiritual about this place — traces of pre-Buddhist Vietnam linger in the air, mysterious and serene.
Day 4–5. Sea Trips and Islands
If it’s your first time in Nha Trang, set aside at least one day for island-hopping.
The most popular islands are Hon Mun, Hon Tam, and Mot Island. Boats depart from Cầu Đá Port, about 15 minutes away by motorbike.
- Hon Mun is great for snorkeling — crystal-clear water and fish as colorful as in a Pixar movie.
- Hon Tam has soft white sand and beach bars with cocktails right by the sea.
- For something quieter, head to Hon Mieu or Hon Noi (Swallow Island) — both perfect for peaceful escapes.
Day 6. Cafés, Night Market, and Street Food
Nha Trang becomes especially charming after sunset, when the heat gives way to a soft breeze.
Walk along Trần Phú Street, where cafés, bars, and food stalls fill the evening air with the smell of grilled seafood and noodle soup.
My must-try list:
- Bún chả cá — noodle soup with fish cakes and aromatic broth;
- Nem nướng — grilled meat rolls with herbs and rice paper;
- And, of course, fresh coconut served on ice.
☕ For coffee lovers: An Cafe or Cong Caphe — cozy spots with street views and strong, flavorful Vietnamese coffee.

Day 7. A Day Without Plans
I always leave my last day open.
I wander, visit small ceramic and coffee shops, watch the sunset sink behind the horizon, and pick souvenirs for friends.
If you’re lucky, you might catch one of the local festivals — the streets fill with lanterns and flags, and Nha Trang turns into a living postcard.
When to Visit
☀️ The best time to visit Nha Trang is February to August, when the sea is calm and the skies are clear.
🌧️ From December to January, waves can be stronger, but the weather remains warm — around 25°C (77°F) during the day.
